Social Apostolate

"Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me."(Mt.25: 40)

We enthusiastically engage in social service activities by following the footsteps of our beloved founder Mar Thomas Kurialacherry, who accomplished the prophetic call through different areas of social service.


Educational Schemes

It is a scheme put forward to help the poor and brilliant students at the parish level. We offer necessary guidelines and financial help to the students from primary class to XII and for different courses such as Bachelor degrees, General Nursing, BA, B. Sc. Nursing, Poly Technic, and B.Tech, in order to to make them efficient and to help them stand on their own foot.

The seminars conducted for the students make them aware of the necessity for focusing on the proper development of values and attitudes and help to face the challenges of the modern world.


Courses and Seminars

The sisters actively working in the social service sector participate in the different seminars courses and meetings conducted under the social service department at the congregational, province and diocesan levels.


Village Development Programme

With a focus on the development of poor villagers of all sects and religions, we have undertaken the distribution of one goat for one family and to give financial support for the poor students of the locality. We visit the houses of the old patients and check the blood pressure and sugar. We also provide for them classes on the hygiene and such other domestic subjects.


Jail Ministry

We visit different jails in the district and give prisoners spiritual, mental and other needed support.




CASP (Community Aid & Sponsorship Programme)

A unit of CASP is working energetically at Nirmalamatha Central School, Thrissur and at Padavarad convent in association with CASP under the Rajagiri Social Service Kalamassery. In every academic year students who are the member of the units are provided with umbrella, bags, uniform and other needed study materials for the year. The students participate in the camps and games conducted from the Rajgiri Social Service CASP department. Every second Saturdays the students are summoned and classes and necessary instructions are given to them. Also special care is taken to give tuition classes, classes for their parents and to conduct tours for their integral development.


Marriage Help Scheme

Girls from poor families are provided with financial support on a participating basis depositing a fixed amount in the bank in view of their marriage. Around 100 girls are benefited from this scheme.


Housing Scheme

Through this scheme selected families are given financial support to build a house of their own. A good number of families have benefitted.


Medical Aid

Medical aid is provided to the poor patients who are to undergo operation, radiation, dialysis, accident recovery etc. Bedridden patients are also helped for buying regular medicines.


House Visiting

House visits are conducted in the parish level and prayer, financial and other supports, counselling facilities etc. are provided to them without the consideration of their caste, religion, or creed.


HIV patients

Sisters attend classes on every second Saturdays from 9.30 am to 3.00 pm and extend their help in the gathering of a society of HIV patients at Kodakara governed under the management of the CMI congregation. The classes on hygiene, nutrition, mental health are given to them and consolation and instructions are given to them through counselling. Financial help for the study and marriage of the children of HIV patients also are provided under this scheme.


Campus Ministry

Counselling facilities are also provided to the school students in our schools and parish and we spend time to listen to them and issues they are involved in.


Drug Addiction

Actions are taken from the part of sisters to help and rescue the alcoholic addicted persons and their families through prayer, counselling, and medication for de-addiction.


Among the Birds of the Air

3 of Sisters are working since 1995 among the lonely and deprived people of the Thiruhridayashramam at Chennaipara run by the MCBS fathers. Sisters joyfully extend their help and do services such as giving medicines to the sick, preparing the near-death patients for a good death through prayer, serving the mentally ill persons, taking care of the abandoned children and helping the school going children and encouraging them in their studies, to inculcate good behaviour and to develop good character.


Sanjo Bhavan Community College, Marottichal

A Community College started adjoining the Sanjo Bhavan convent at Marottichal in Puthur gramapanchayat in 2009 as a social work institution of the province. Vocational courses are conducted here with a view of empowering women, betterment of the life situations of women the women and to bring women to the forefront of the society through making them equipped in different types of small scale jobs. An intense care is taken to make them enter to into any carrier and help them financially.
